An elf (plural elves) is a being of Germanic mythology. The elves were originally thought of as a race of divine or semi-divine beings (wights, vættir) endowed with magical powers, which they use both for the benefit and the injury of mankind. In pre-Christian mythology, they appear to have been divided into light elves and dark elves, difficult to delineate from the Æsir (gods) on one hand and the dvergar (dwarves) on the other.

Modern fantasy literature has revived the elves as a race of semi-divine beings of human stature who are friendly with animals. Fantasy elves are different from Norse elves, but are more akin to that older mythology than to folktale elves – they are unlikely to sneak in at night and help a cobbler mend his shoes. Fantasy elves differ in many ways from the traditional elves found in northern European folklore and Victorian era literature; although in particular, the álfar of Norse mythology has influenced the concept of elves in fantasy.

To us oriental shorthair cats are realy human friendly creatures. It's fairy-like race with "butterfly-shaped" ears, and with thin, long faces, legs, hands and bodies. They're even able to talk and to "fly" across apparments! ;-)

Oriental cats have dog's temper, monkey's mores, social oriented behaviour and wild-looking appearance. Per TICA and WCF rules siamese and oriental breeds are cats with the same body type differ by one feature of coat color only. Cat with blue eyes and color, concentrated on face, ears, legs and tail is called siamese. Green-eyed cats "painted" to another of numerous patterns belong to oriental shorthair breed.

If You want to adopt playful, active, loving, intelligent, loyal, demanding and social pet, choose siamese or oriental one. As a bonus, wonderful, extremely short, silky, tight and close lying coat of orientals save You from troubles with hairs on your clothes and a furniture. But remember, better than one OSH cat can be only two OSH cats.
